The ACTRES Project

ACTRES (Contrastive Analysis and Translation English-Spanish in its Spanish acronym) started as a long-term research enterprise at the Department of Modern Languages of the University of León, Spain and the CITTAC (Centre for Research on Bilingual Terminology, Specialized Translation and Contrastive Analysis in its Spanish acronym) at the University of Valladolid, in co-operation with scholars from the University of the Basque Country (UPV/ EHU), Miguel de Cervantes European University (UEMC) and University of Deusto (UD).

Research interests

Contrastive analysis, translation studies, comparative stylistics, corpus-based lexical-grammar, teaching English as a foreign language in primary school, natural language processing, computational linguistics, machine translation among others.

Project

ACTRES is currently funded by the Spanish Agency for Research, Development and Innovation (Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness), project FFI2016-75672-R.

Transference

An essential part of this long-term goal is the active collaboration with agents in the food processing industry, particularly quality wine producers and gastronomic businesses.
